In September, we had the privilege of conducting a pre-acquisition survey on this stunning 1904 Edwardian stone property in Ansdell, Lytham St Annes.
The building was brimming with stunning architectural features to delight any heritage enthusiast. From the symmetrical façade and sash windows framed by stone pediments, to the decorative balustraded parapet, oriel window, enriched cornice work, and intricate mosaic floor, this inspection offered interest from start to finish.
The beautiful heritage features continued inside, from the herringbone parquet flooring, to the beautifully preserved internal glazed screen, one of the property’s most captivating heritage features. Crafted in painted timber, it combines elegant panelling with delicately arched leaded glass, softly filtering light between spaces while retaining a sense of intimacy and separation. The property also featured this stunning Victorian red quarry tile herringbone tiling.
It is features like this that give the property its soul, a reminder that heritage design was as much about atmosphere and emotion as it was about function.
